Freed from the iceberg in which he'd been trapped at the end of his previous film outing, Godzilla rampages across Japan en route to an encounter with the world's greatest ape, who's grown significantly taller than he was in 1933. This battle of the titans is a playful and funny entry in the Godzilla series, spoofing the culture of advertising (Kong has been imported to Japan as a publicity stunt for a pharmaceutical company) and never taking itself too seriously, even if it does begin by quoting Shakespeare.
