This captivating, dramatic documentary provides an up-close look at the influence of the missionary and evangelical movements on members of the Huli tribe of the Papua New Guinea highlands. Since the arrival of Methodist missionaries in 1955, the Huli have been subject to conversion by over a hundred churches. This film combines the director's award-winning film The Gospel According to the Papuans (1998/SFIFF 2000) with a recent follow-up visit in December of last year, Waiting for Jesus (1999), to create a wry and stirring look at consequences of Christianization.
