“Associated British-Pathe never had the flair for comedy that Ealing had, and their basic comedy director, Mario Zampi, was a little heavy-handed and more at home with romantic themes. Nevertheless, this British equivalent of Hollywood's If I Had A Million is an amusing and entertaining showcase for some talented players, and is very rarely shown. Sim is particularly delightful as the rather stuffy heir who - in accordance with the terms of those perennially bizarre movie wills - must get himself arrested as a criminal before coming into his inheritance. A young and charming Audrey Hepburn can also be seen in one of her first roles.”
