Li Shuang-Shuang

Admission: $1.50

Reportedly one of Chou En-Lai's favorite films, Li Shuang-Shuang has been hailed by Jay Leyda as “a good realistic comedy with unexpected satirical touches.” Based on a 1959 story by Li Chun - described by Leyda as “a believably humourous reflection of the Great Leap of 1958” - Li Shuang-Shuang stars Chang Jui-fang and Chung Hsing-hua as the activist wife/passive husband couple at the center of the action, which is set in a Hunan village.
