A fantastic tale of a nobleman (Alberto Rabagliati), reduced to rags by a gambling debt and near suicide, who wanders into the lives of two sisters, Nadina (Maria Mercader) and Virginia (Magnani). While Nadina runs the family farm, Virginia pursues a singing career, taking lessons from a professor who is secretly in love with her. A few days with these eccentrics and the Count is revitalized.
