Life Dances On...

An elusive elegy forFrank's daughter Andrea, and his assistant Danny Seymour, both of whomhad died tragically. Frank fuses his sense of loss to an exploration ofthe living, in particular three people (his son Pablo, a friend MartyGreenbaum, and a street person, Billy) to whom he was close. "I feltthat each of these three people was walking on the edge. And that's whatmade the film," Frank said in a recent Film Comment interview. "With nobeginning or end," Philip Brookman writes, "the film appears as slice oflife...simply the passage of time and its minute effects, colored by themovement of the film itself."
