In Trail of the North Wind (see November 18), Dreena (Shipman) banished animal traps from the wilderness. In the second Little Drama of the Big Places, Dreena would banish woodcutters who want to cut down the wilderness forest. The opening scene of The Light on Lookout shows Dreena protectively embracing a tree...Dreena's affections are divided, however. Jim, one of the woodcutters, is a handsome young man...(In the film's climax) Dreena climbs the steep, snow-clad cliffs of Mt. Lookout...then descends to drive off the thieves and set Jim free-for (another woman). The Light on Lookout closes with the last known image of Nell Shipman on film. As Dreena, she rouses from a bed of boughs and smiles, finding beside her her beloved companion and steadfast protector, Brownie the bear. Tom Trusky
