Bay Area filmmaker Gunvor Nelson returns to her native Sweden, traveling through the countryside by car, on foot and skates, moving on, not restlessly but yearningly, as if attempting to cover the distance from the present to the past. A moment is yanked from the continuum and the image, reframed and animated, is painted on, then crumbled and discarded, as if even these rich, intense images do not equal Nelson's memories.
