BAMPFA from Home

Live conversation with Spaceship Earth director Matt Wolf on Sunday, May 17, 5 PM PDT

In conjunction with BAMPFA's streaming presentation of Spaceship Earth, a new documentary on the Biosphere 2 project, join us for a live conversation between director Matt Wolf and artist Fritz Haeg, moderated by Fanny Singer.

Along with Spaceship Earth, Matt Wolf’s feature documentaries include Wild Combination, about the cult cellist and disco producer Arthur Russell, and Teenage, about early youth culture and the birth of teenagers. His recent film Recorder is about the activist Marion Stokes, who secretly recorded television twenty-four hours a day for thirty years.

Fritz Haeg is an artist known for itinerant urban projects including Edible Estates, an international series of domestic edible landscapes, and Animal Estates, a housing initiative for native urban wildlife. In 2014 he began a new chapter of work with the purchase of the historic 1970s commune Salmon Creek Farm on the Mendocino coast.

Fanny Singer is a writer, editor, and cofounder of the design brand Permanent Collection. Her new book Always Home: A Daughter’s Recipes and Stories is a memoir of life with her mother, Alice Waters.
