LOST BOYS OF SUDAN
“Now it's clear there is no heaven on earth,” says one of the thousands of “lost boys” of Sudan after a year in the United States. The subjects of this documentary, orphans brought from U.N. refugee camps in 2001, are among the thousands who suffered innumerable hardships trying to escape Sudan's forty-seven-year civil war. This moving and often disturbing film chronicles the attempts of a small group of lost boys to assimilate in the U.S. It will leave you questioning your beliefs about immigration and foreign aid, race and cultural identity.
