Lucky Devils

“Although little more than a ‘B,' this Selznick-Merian C. Cooper production has the distinction of being the first movie about stuntmen. Curiously the scenes showing stunts being filmed often have a lot of faking involved, whereas the action that comes into the narrative naturally has more authentic stuntwork! Incidentally, footage of that disastrous stunt from Clarence Brown's silent Trail of '98, when inadequate precautions caused stuntmen to be drowned, is incorporated into the film's climax.” --W.K. Everson
