Rozier's return to features after a 15-year absence was a deserved winner of France's Jean Vigo prize; shown at the S.F. International Film Festival at the time, in some circles it has now achieved the status of a lost classic. Displaying Rozier's usual improvisatory brio, it shows an insatiable curiosity about what happens when people of different languages and cultures are thrown together.
