Making Dances

Making Dances provides us with a fair, open, and intimate picture of contemporary dance by letting seven (there are actually more out there) leading New York-based (and therefore validated) choreographers express their artistic positions. The off-screen presence of critic Marcia Siegel is responsible for the articulate economy of the film's dialogue. The editing of Peter Adair (Word Is Out) balances the diverse visual styles of the pieces into the unified ensemble of movement a good dance film should be.
