"Eille Norwood made more Holmes films than any other actor (47 shorts and two features) and next to Wontner and Rathbone, was certainly one of the best Holmes. Although missing some footage at the very beginning (happily, covered by titles), this is a well-done film and an absorbing (if unlikely!) story." William K. Everson
