Manchu (Late Autumn)
"Manchu is an atmospheric story of two social outcasts who meet, fall in love and part in the space of two days. Elegant cinematography and a western score make the film a stylish mood piece which is reminiscent of the French director Claude Lelouch. Director Sooyong Kim is particularly skillful in his use of landscape to create moods, a quality for which his 1965 film Gaetmaul is also notable. Sooyong Kim began his film career in 1957. His most active period was in the 1960s. To date he has made over 100 films." --Asia Society
