How well can a husband know his wife? In Maybe Some Other Time, veteran writer/director Beizai constructs an elegantly elliptical, Nicolas Roeg-like puzzle of paranoia and suspicion centering on the relationship of a television commentator and his mentally fragile wife. While selecting footage for a documentary on pollution, Mr. Modabber (Dariush Farhang) becomes obsessed with a shot which seems to show his wife Kian (Sussan Taslimi, his real-life wife) in a car with another man. While Modabber seeks to identify the mystery man, Kian is involved in a search of her own-to establish her true parentage and identity. (AS)
