“Mike de Leon subtly captures the ambiance of an upper-class campus setting as he shapes an illicit relationship between a young married woman (Hilda Koronel) and a student on holiday (Christopher de Leon). They each look upon the affair as a temporarily safe refuge from other pressures without the illusion that it has the possibility of lasting. She is stifled by her bourgeois marriage and by the macho posturing of her husband. The student's musical talent pulls him in the direction of that line of study, while his father demands a more useful degree in biology.
