“In its initial review, Variety suggested that this film would do for Mormonism what The Birth of a Nation did for racism! Certainly...polygamy seems to be the only issue involved, with the leader of the group...a lecher of the first order. This simple, short but very much to the point melodrama has Noah Beery trying to claim an innocent Mae Murray as the latest of his many wives, with father Hobart Bosworth offering not very effective opposition. A colorful highlight of the film is the utilization of The Seeing Eyes, the Mormon's own KKK!” William K. Everson
