Muriel and Band of Outsiders

Muriel
Muriel is a bold and beautiful film in which director Resnais takes a very ordinary incident from provincial life, a reunion of a middle-aged woman and her old lover at Boulogne, and out of the trivia of daily life and its anxieties creates a mosaical masterpiece that probes the themes of time and memory, and the relations between personal conscience and public consciousness (the Algerian War).
