Music, Story, Expectation: Experimental Works
This eclectic selection of short experimental works by UC Berkeley students in various departments includes music videos-Emerge: Real Edition (Matthew Boyko, Dax Bedell, 5 mins, DVD), Hot in Herre Reeemix (Hélène Park, 3 mins), and 1's & 3's (Seth Minor, 4 mins); a twisted take on personal identity in Some things to think about (Dora Wedekind, 3 mins); and even a bizarre instructional video, How to Make Jello, Draw a Kitty, Scare Others (Vicky Choy, 8 mins). The visual and aural odyssey continues with Janice Chow's Vision (4 mins), Joseph R. Wright's 12 Cycles (5 mins), and Drew Spicer and Heath Gibson's White Suburbia (1 min). Jacob Levine whips up some old-fashioned terror with his compelling The Tell Tale (10 mins), and a series of works by architecture students challenges our perception of space and place. The program also includes the infamous Licker series by Rajan Agaskar (7 mins) and other works.
Curated by undergraduates Matt Constantine, Department of Art Practice, and Kim V. Smith, Department of Anthropology.
