My Grandmother and In Spring

My Grandmother
This Soviet Georgian work is a genuine piece of grotesquerie, descended from Gogol and the Soviet Eccentric Cinema (FEKS). My Grandmother looks like Franz Kafka Meets Charlie Chaplin: A riotous, black, scathingly anti-bureaucratic satire taking in all kinds of advanced filmic devices like stop-motion, bits of puppetry and animation and expressionist decor. The added musical track is beautifully integrated.
