My Sister and I

"Unreleased theatrically in this country, and given but sparse tv exposure, My Sister and I (an adaptation of the novel High Pavement by Emery Bonnet) is one of those pleasant, armchair English murder mysteries that is short on menace but strong on plot complications and characterizations. Although efficiently made, it is clearly not an expensive production, and is possibly a little premature in being the first adult-role, starring vehicle for Sally Ann Howes...only three years after she had played the frightened youngster at the Christmas party in Dead of Night.... Veterans Barbara Mullen and Martita Hunt have no trouble stealing all the honors. As long as one expects a cozy, comfortable film rather than a suspenseful and exciting one, it's certainly worth this belated exposure." William K. Everson
