The New Spaniards

“A broad satire on the American takeover of a Spanish company and the frantic pursuit of efficiency that ensues. Bruster and Bruster, an international insurance corporation, imports its terrifying array of experts: a Japanese time-and-motion man, a glacial personnel officer who pries into employees' lives and organizes their wives; a marine-sergeant vice-president who remoulds the salesmen into workaholics, driving themselves to win the coveted promotion. The story is a caricature of Spanish lethargy versus American ruthlessness, but the pacing and inventiveness make it an enjoyable popular comedy.”
