October (Ten Days That Shook the World)

Prof. Seymour Chatman will introduce Eisenstein's penultimate silent film, made to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution. Eisenstein noted of his own film: “Potemkin has something of the Greek Temple, October is more baroque. Certain parts of it are purely experimental, using methods of intellectual creation which I believe will be developed. Pesonally, from the point of view of experiment, I find October more interesting.”
