One Way Street

James Mason plays a doctor who becomes involved with mobsters and must flee to Mexico. There his lover encourages him to reform, but he is a troubled man, equally out of place in the “legitimate” professional world and the world of crime. Stranded in a little Mexican village, he finally begins to feel at home. Mason is excellent in this kind of role that involves a slow and subtle personality change. Dan Duryea is the featured gangster in the mob.
