A “comedy of errors” not too far removed from Shakespeare, and a devastating satire against the “idle rich,” Palm Beach Story centers around the misadventures of its romantic leads, Joel McCrea and Claudette Colbert, sort of married at the start, and sort of married at the end, with sequences so frantically funny that one almost chokes for breath.
