Perfect Circle

Perfect Circle is the first authentic Bosnian portrayal of the siege of Sarajevo. Director Ademir Kenovic began filming in 1992, soon after the war broke out, and in 1994 brought some of his documentary footage to the Festival. This time, Kenovic brings us a haunting, compassionate tale grounded in the brutal realities of war but focused on the triumph of the spirit. Hamza is a poet who finds himself alone as the war advances, his wife and daughter having fled to safer ground. He comes upon Adis and Kerim, orphans who take refuge in his empty home. The random and brutal nature of the atrocities they confront engenders a stronger bond than Hamza's family ever had.
