A broadcast tape recently shown on “Artists' Showcase,” WGBH, Boston. The setting for this work is an underground tunnel system connecting various buildings on a college campus. “Trifles” of broadcast TV sound and written text permeate and redefine the nature of the visual image presented. Proposal for QUBE

“We're bambambam. You jump around. You bounce. You play QUBE.” --Press Release. QUBE is the first artists' application of two-way “interactive” cable-TV technology in the U.S. and is located in Columbus, Ohio.

This tape is a response to this system. It contains five segments ranging from theoretical concerns of two-way communication to everyday events presented in the form of: tele-text, news, photo, film and tele-performance. (1978, 10 mins, color & b/w)
