Poison Pen
Poison Pen
"Based on a play by Richard Llewellyn, and a big critical success in its day, this long-unseen film inevitably seems less impressive today because of the more cinematic, more vicious and certainly more famous film that it later spawned, Clouzot's Le Courbeau (The Raven). Nevertheless, it's fascinating to see that classic film at its source and it remains a solidly satisfying film" (William K. Everson). The plot deals with the dark psychological effects of a rash of poison pen letters on the inhabitants of a once-peaceful English village.
