During the early sixties, the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) established mobile film units to take informational and entertainment films to the remotest villages in an effort to give everyone access to education and culture previously reserved for the urban privileged. For the First Time is a moving account of one such village as it experiences film for the first time.
