Ravi Shankar: Between Two Worlds

Ravi Shankar inhabits two worlds: the glamorous world of limos and celebrity and the world of performing sacred music at shrines on the banks of the holy river Ganges. Rigorous classical discipline and the ability to expand on a traditional form have given his sitar music appeal worldwide for forty years. This biographical documentary depicts Shankar's life as a rich interplay of cultures, attitudes, and disciplines as it interweaves scenes from his birthplace of Benares with those of him rubbing elbows with the likes of Yehudi Menhuin, John Coltrane, and George Harrison.
