Redskin

A restored print of this part black-and-white, part two-color Technicolor film. "Redskin is a drama of changing Indian life styles in the 1920s. Richard Dix plays Wing Foot, a Navajo who has attended the white man's reservation school, and then prep school and college back East. He returns to his tribe, but his 'white man' ways make him an outcast, and his love for Corn Blossom, a woman of a rival tribe, forces him to escape to the desert. Redskin was filmed on location in Canyon de Chelly (and on the Berkeley campus). The red and green colors of the Technicolor process (are used) to their best advantage in the (pastel desert images and scenes of) Indian life, compensating for the shortcomings of this color process."
