Reggie's World of Soul

: Anchorman Reggie (film- and videomaker Reginald Hudlin) uses an Evening News format to spin out an outrageous satire on African American life and culture. Coverage ranges from a meeting/melding of Hassidim and Rastafarians (natty payess and all), to the merchandising of Black Power and the gala opening of a new fast-food chain in East St. Louis, Illinois. Hudlin hails from this blighted neighborhood as do a number of artists including Ike and Tina Turner, Miles Davis, Chuck Berry...and Warrington Hudlin, Reginald's older brother and partner in art. Their new feature House Party (directed and written by Reggie, produced by Warrington) was recently released.
