Retour à la Vie (Return to Life)

This multiple-plot film on the theme of returned prisoners of war and displaced persons combines the talents of some of France's best directors and actors. "A very loose parallel to Italy's Paisan, although glossier and more concerned with being a showcase for sundry stars and directors than in offering a totally realistic picture of Paris and France at the end of World War II. The credits are unusually impressive, even for an all-star film." William K. Everson
