Rikki Tikki Tavi

Recommended for ages 7 and older.
A fascinating live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's “Rikki Tikki Tavi” (The Brave Mongoose). True to the “Jungle Book” style, the story is told through the eyes of a young mongoose, with wonderful footage of other animals in the story: elephants, a tigress with her cubs and the villain of the piece, a black cobra. The movie, set in colonial India at the turn of the century, also develops the human characters more fully, especially the young English boy Teddy who befriends the mongoose.
