The Road

The problems and hopes of Chinese youth in the current economic reforms are at the center of this dramatic feature. Jobless high school graduates are rallied by an optimistic girl among them to find their own road to employment. Since the state-owned enterprises are not hiring, the youths decide to start a sweater factory of their own. They succeed in the face of myriad obstacles, both social and economic, which are realistically depicted.
