Road Movie

In Road Movie, two truck drivers operating their own business take on a feisty young prostitute, Janice. When she is beaten by one of the drivers, Janice retaliates by disconnecting the freezer cable for their haul of meat. Later, she uses her underworld connections to the advantage of the truckers, but when they try to throw her out of their lives, she takes her final revenge. Director Joseph Strick devotes a good deal of footage to a destroyed American landscape, a vision of roadside squalor and smoke-filled skylines. Judith Rascoe's screenplay focuses on other fruits of capitalist enterprise: the truckers and, in particular, Janice.
