Rockers
"Rockers is a light folk comedy of the reggae scene, amiable and unassuming but edged with insight, and propelled by a pleasing wall-to-wall music track...Its narrative unselfconsciously reveals telling details of Jamaican life, as the camera wanders through Kingston and environs, following the half-comic, half-poignant adventures of an unprosperous musician (played by) well-known reggae session man, drummer Leroy 'Horsemouth' Wallace...The almost continuous background music by Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, et al provides a rhythmic surge to the action, but includes few major hits...It's a reggae of session musicians rather than superstars-and this is only fitting, because the film is about the reggae-and-Rasta community, and not about stardom, just as the film's 'look' is Third World-shoestring-financing, rather than Hollywood high-tech." --Naomi Wise, Express
