As director of the New York Museum of Modern Art's Film Archives, Eileen Bowser is responsible for the fantastic program of film preservation and restoration, so vital to film study around the world, for which the MOMA Archives are known. Tonight, Ms. Bowser presents two hours of short films and excerpts, along with an informal commentary; the contents are still a secret...but, given the source, sure to be stupendous! On the afternoon of October 9, the San Francisco International Film Festival will honor Eileen Bowser and her work at the Museum of Modern Art with a repeat of tonight's program.
