Sleep My Love

"Sleep My Love came a little too late in the day for its Gaslight-type plot to have too many surprises for an audience, and even Don Ameche--who had played opposite Colbert just a couple of years earlier in a more traditional romantic farce (Guest Wife) seemed to have trouble convincing himself that he was playing the villain on this occasion. But for its welding of post-Spellbound neuroses and psychiatry and currently fashionable noir elements, it's a consistently interesting and entertaining thriller, if a rather predictable one."
