Soft and Hard

We follow Godard and Miéville in their daily routine as they discuss hard questions regarding the organization of communication in television, movies, and everyday life; and the relationship between images and our ideas of home, nature, and art. The subtitle, "A Soft Conversation on Hard Subjects," underscores their interest in the dual meanings of the word "subject"-to find a subject and to become a subject. The long takes of their conversation are juxtaposed with clips from Hollywood films and contemporary television programs.-Kathy Geritz
