Solid Gold Cadillac

Corporate corruption is the target of this bright comedy, shot in silky black and white (and a flash of color). Judy Holliday crackles as the small investor with a loud voice who throws a large corporation off its crooked course. The George S. Kaufman/Howard Teichmann satire, narrated by George Burns, takes a few bites at capitalism but doesn't come away with any meat; this is underdoggery triumphant in the American dream.
