A Song of Air
: A woman examines home movies and still photos, looking into her family's past to uncover clues to the person she is today. Her father documented family get-togethers and scripted and directed the family in short narrative films. He also managed their off-screen lives, asserting an authoritarian control, emphasizing the importance of family, religion and traditional values. The fragments of the past do not "jigsaw" together like so many puzzle pieces into a clear portrait of the filmmaker, but rather allow her to poetically conjure up a past in order to open up her future.
