Sons of the Desert with Brats and Hog Wild
Putting one over on the wife, who is> invariably smarter than that, is the oldest gag incomedy but, as William K. Everson notes in his book on Laurel &Hardy, "Sons of the Desert is a thoroughly fresh and delightfulcomedy, quite certainly the best and subtlest of all their features. Isuspect in years to come (it) will be regarded as one of the mostaccomplished comedies of the '30s. "Over-scale sets wereconstructed for Brats, in which Laurel & Hardy are babysitters fortheir own sons, played by themselves. Inanimate objects triumph inHog Wild when Hardy tries to erect a radio antenna on the roof of hishouse.
