Summer Storm
Summer Storm
"(Although) literary, and noir in mood, this adaptation of Chekhov's 'The Shooting Party' suffers a little today from over-length, from budget economies which filled too many of the supporting roles with inexpensive Hollywood 'types', and from an over-abundance of studio sets that are not always wholly convincing. But it's a courageous effort, and remains one of the most interesting and stylish of Sirk's early Hollywood films." William K. Everson
