Joe Rees and his Target Video group have concentrated on an involved documentation of the “new wave/no wave” “punk” rock and roll scene that has flourished in the Bay Area and internationally for the past five years. In addition to its coverage of local and visiting bands, Target Video has produced a series of topical, often political collage tapes, usually set to music by the likes of the Dead Kennedys. In this program, Rees will present a wide selection of his works including those recently screened as part of the California Video Exhibition in the Paris Biennale.
