The Thief of Bagdad

A magnificently colorful fantasy, rich in oriental splendor, taken from the tales of the Arabian Nights and constructed by writer Miles Malleson into a romantic adventure story of a handsome prince of Bagdad whose throne is usurped by his wicked Grand Vizier. Miraculous things happen to the prince and the little thief whom he meets in a dungeon cell, as the prince seeks the hand of a beautiful princess dwelling in a faraway city. Woven into the story are such legends as that of the flying horse, the djinni in the bottle, the all-seeing eye, and the magic carpet, all represented on the screen through brilliantly accomplished trick photography.
