The Thin Man

The basic ingredients of the routine detective thriller were used as background here for one of the funniest and most stylish screwball comedies of all time. The plot is derived from Dashiell Hammett, but the real subject is “the private fun a man and woman could have in a world of their own making” (Richard Griffith). William Powell is a suave and urbane Nick Charles, and Myrna Loy is a delightful Nora. Together they investigate a series of murders following the disappearance of an aged inventor.
