Country club complacency and suburban indifference are neatly blended in this deceptively simple, and certainly underrated, murder mystery set in the London stockbroker belt. An attractive pregnant girl is found dead after a tennis club dance and Scotland Yard's finest, Superintendent (John) Mills, arrives to investigate among the hostile middle-classes.
