The central couple here is Agnès (Dominique Blanc), a junkie who needs drugs, and her husband the police inspector (Gilbert Melki), who provides them. It was he who had followed Alain in An Amazing Couple and tracked Bruno in On the Run. The film at once explains and renders more complex the other parts of the trilogy, while it offers a reaffirmation of the love between husband and wife. Stylistically, Belvaux surprises again by using a handheld camera for this melodrama.
